Little Venice

Venice! An amazing little place. Emphasis on the little. We did of the lap of an island in just one morning!! But beautiful none the less!

The day we arrived we did the usual  walk around to see the city and as we walked passed one of the canals and it was bright green! Apparently they made an error with testing something.

Also came across  a protestor who’d put himself in a harness off the bridge. Not sure why, but there were police everywhere! We also discovered how expensive Venice is. Keeping in with our routine we went out for the night and found some really cool bars. Funnily enough we were sat next to a Welsh man from Llanelli, and his partner who was from London. Both of whom were doctors! So we had a good laugh with them. The next morning we woke up feeling very sorry for ourselves so had a bit of a slow day! Finishing it with gelato and a really yummy dinner. The following day we did a lap of the island and saw all the water taxis and different land marks. Not as many major landmarks in Venice unfortunately. We saw Marco Polo’s house too! On the last day it was a very high tide and this flooded some of the streets close the canals. Then off we headed to yet another canceled train! Thats okay though because the one we got after took a route we wouldn’t have gone and we got to see some of the stunning mountains in Italy and Austria!

We also took a ride on a gondola! It was really nice to escape the noise of the city and just hear the water.
