Salzburg - The hills are alive!

After a canceled train to Salzburg (no surprise) we got on the next one which was a blessing as the views were insane as the route took us through the Alps! ( we wouldn’t have seen them on the original route). Then when we arrived in Salzburg and were a bit taken aback by the views. Surrounded by mountains and a castle at the top. As soon as we arrived we headed straight to dinner ready for a huge day the next day.

After breaky first on our list was to go up to the fortress / castle. The views from the top were like nothing we had seen before! Taking a train up and down which made the actually getting to it much easier. ( no delays either ha ha, in case you were wondering?) We then headed to the Dom quarter to see some art and some pretty cool buildings. After this we were a bit knowledged out so we headed to a science and technology museum where we saw some fish and played some of the technology games. We are pretty sure they were for kids but we had fun! Of course then we just had to see some more Christmas markets!

The following day we headed to a brewery tour. (More free beer) in comparison to the Heineken tour this one was mediocre but still super fun! Then it was off to Mozarts  house where we got to see his hair….🙄  As we had some time left on our city pass we headed to the modern art museum which is not usually to our taste but there was some weird and wacky stuff there!

We saw so many places where the Sound of Music was filmed which was awesome, so of course Caitlin made Fraser watch it after returning to the hotel!

Next stop- Munich! Beer halls here we come.
