Kraków - Wow!! Kraków.
Krakow! We have had such an amazing time here. So so beautiful and so so cheap ;). First stop was a “Goose” restaurant…..But we chose pork and ribs .
Then an all day trip to Auschwitz. People warn you but WOW….it makes it so much more real! We didn’t get too many photos due to being very immersed in the experience.
Arbeit macht frei - Entering the former concentration camp in Auschwitz one can see the infamous slogan above the entrance gate. Arbeit macht frei which literally means work sets you free. Nowadays, everyone knows how ironic and paradoxical those words are.
We came back that day and found dinner in a steak house! After speaking to some locals (some of who had escaped the war in the Ukraine) we wandered to what must have been the best bar in town!
The “Wieliczka” Salt Mine
The next day we set out to the salt mines and it was so beautiful! Apparently we only explored 1% of it! A trip to the Christmas markets followed and then to a dessert restaurant by the fire! Krakow has been amazing. Zakopane here we come.
