Constantine Bay - Cornwall

After a long drive from Steve’s place in Queen Camel to Constantine bay in Cornwall we arrived at a spectacular house.  We were all suitably impressed by the size of the house and the standard of furnishings etc etc. What blew my mind…..and there is still much left to blow at this stage of travelling, was the ‘welcome’ package left by the owner.  It included, ground coffee, tea bags, biscuits, milk…..then 1kg of thick cut bacon from the local farm shop along with a dozen eggs, butter, clotted cream. Strawberry jam and apple juice also from the local farm shop. On the counter we were left 2 loaves of bread from the local bakery and a dozen large scones!  This was something definitely not included in the description which is what I think made it more a wonderful surprise.

Hey! It’s my birthday…

We are thrilled to have a very special guest, Caitlin, with us. It’s a truly memorable occasion—her 25th birthday celebration.

Part of a walk along Cornish Coast.

Weather wise the weekend was not so great but by Monday the sun had decided to appear and to stay with us for the remainder of the week.  The week consisted of some early morning long walks for Steve and Simon whilst the rest of the household enjoyed a lay-in in the tranquility of the location, family card games, learning and playing chess, solving murders and bank robberies (detective games purchased prior to the trip proved to be a hit and kept us all busy for a couple of hours). A few walks to the local beach - or car ride depending, visits to the local pubs and fish and chip suppers. Visit to Padstow was a must, and the sun shone brightest and warmest for us on that day! A super relaxing end to our “Great Escape”, spent making more memories with loved ones.
