ROYAL INTERNATIONAL AIR TATTOO 2025

Great couple of days camping at Totterdown Hill camp site during RIAT. Whilst Carol stayed home with her parents (her choice, mumbling something about not needing to listen to a chorus of snoring from various quarters) Simon went to see some large items of flying metal. Not put off by the typical British weather, the intrepid campers made the most of what was on offer.

Nigel brought so much food that word had reached the ears of the pilots involved in the air displays. Keen to check if the rumours were true, the pilots flew almost directly overhead to see the vast array of sustenance Nigel had provided for the rest of his camping mates. MASSIVE thank you to Nigel for this stoke of genius planning! Oh wait! What?? - Ahhh - apparently the fact that we were camped at the top of a hill next to the runway might have something to do with it.

Nigel’s amazing lighting display brought appreciative comments from fellow campers but some confusion from the pilots…they seemed to be getting closer and closer!

For once, from a photography point of view, Simon was appreciative of the grey skies that provided the perfect back drop for some dramatic photographs.
